This is an excellent opportunity to work with a young, innovative charity to help us make a mark with our first exciting project launch.
At Link Up (UK) we aim to deal with issues of citizenship by developing projects that promote a sense of community and belonging. The Great British Community project takes a truly innovative approach to this arena, as we will be combating racism and prejudice by highlighting the positives and benefits that diversity has brought to the UK.
Throughout British history, diversity has added to the identity and make up of Britain today. Whether it’s our language, or music and foods and products which have come from different communities but have been absorbed into the British identity – diversity has truly benefitted this country.
Due to launch in 2013, the Great British Community will be a fully interactive programme using the media and the internet to get this message across to the widest audiences. And each year we will run a special campaign to further promote the benefits that diversity has brought.
