Project Researcher – Family Tree

Project Researcher Volunteer – Family Tree

We are looking to recruit a number of research volunteers for the Family Tree Project. We would like you to research the stories of individuals, communities and organisations that demonstrate how much diversity contributes to British life.  The results will be used to create our Family Tree website, which we are piloting in Newham……

The role will involve archival research, as well as working with community individuals, groups and businesses to promote the Family Tree and its aims, to help them write their stories and gather research for the family tree.

Ideally we would like you to commit 1 – 2 days a week for an initial period of three months. You will have great research skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including good spoken English. You should have great IT skills and be able to use Word, Excel, and email. Most importantly you should support the interests and aims of the organisation and have the ability to represent the organisation to diverse audiences.

You will gain the experience of working on working on a unique and novel project. Have the opportunity to build your research experience and help develop the research briefs. Finally you will be part of a small and dynamic team that can support your work and development.

Please contact us with a CV and Covering Letter explaining your interest in the project and why you wish to apply at info@greatbritishcommunity.org
