Did you get to the games?

Heather: ‘We came up for the free events but Sue managed to get to the Olympic Park.’

Which Olympic/Paralympic moment has stuck with you the most?

Heather: ‘How amazing and brilliant the volunteers have been throughout’. ‘I was struck by how disappointed athletes like Christine Ohuruogo who got silver and bronze medals were. The expectations (of themselves) were so high that they didn’t appreciate how amazing they were.’

Verna: ‘What a great city London is.’

What’s the most important lesson we can take from the games?

Rita: ‘That we can take our time and be a bit nicer to each other.’

What legacy would you like to see as a result of the olympics?

Anne: ‘To learn from the ticketing fiasco. It totally discriminated against people who weren’t computer literate.’

Would you like to say anything else?

Heather: ‘It would have been better for the parade to be on Sunday for children and people at work.’

Interviewee/s: Peter & Family (Gamesmaker at the road cycling)

Did you get to the games?

Peter: ‘Beach Volleyball, Diving and the Athletics.’

Which Olympic/Paralympic moment has stuck with you the most?

Peter: ‘I was at the Athletics  on Super Saturday it was an amazing atmosphere. As a volunteer my favourite experience was stewarding when Bradley Wiggins won the road cycling.’

What’s the most important lesson we can take from the games?

Peter: ‘The Olympics are for everyone. The public were so enthusiastic and so helpful and grateful to the volunteers I was blown away.’

What legacy would you like to see as a result of the Olympics:

Peter: ‘I’d like the Olympic Park to be properly utilised by the public not just for events.’

Would you like to say anything else?

Peter: ‘As an amateur triathlete I’d love to have a go at using the velodrome!’
