We are The Great British Community…and so are you!

We are the communities that make up Britain….we’re famed for ‘tolerance’ but our nation faces real challenges; parts of the media and radical groups use myths of who is and isn’t ‘British’ to divide people, fuelling fears and suspicions of different groups as the ‘other’… .and it’s worked. But by stoking prejudice and racism, they’ve actually made it shameful to be proudly British. They’ve tainted our sense of patriotism and pride in our achievements.

SO, WHO ARE WE?

We are the communities that make up Britain….and together we’ve been responsible for great things; the internet, jet engines, iconic buildings, world renowned art, literature, food and music, not forgetting the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics! These achievements are the legacy of a thousand generations of people who came to settle on this island, from before history was written, to those of us who make our homes here today. Join in by exploring and celebrating how our diversity has contributed to the making of us.
